Proterina-3Évolution is a cross-border project on flood risk that is framed as an evolution of what has been achieved in the 2007-2013 Maritime planning with PROTERINA-Due, RESMAR and PROTERINA-C.
Funded under the Italy-France Maritime Program 2014-2020, it has the ambitious goal of addressing the challenge of flood risk mitigation, improving warning systems, improving forecasting and the ability to communicate and understand the messages sent by institutions.
The project, coordinated by the CIMA Foundation (International Center for Environmental Monitoring), has a duration of three years and sees the collaboration of fourteen partners from the five regions involved, namely Corsica, Paca (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), Liguria, Tuscany and Sardinia. In Tuscany the Region, the LaMMA Consortium, the Arno Basin Authority and ANCI Toscana.

Specific objectives:
  • Improve the effectiveness of flood risk prevention measures through the cross-border and trans-regional involvement of institutional levels and communities that actively become available to a process of increasing risk awareness in their own territory;
  • Strengthen the monitoring networks and integrate the acquired data into early warning models by capitalizing on the results of the previous programming;
  • Increase the cross-border capacity to adapt to climate change through the development of resilient communities.
  • Beneficiaries (direct or indirect) are the competent administrations in the field of civil protection, soil defense and water cycles, the bodies that carry out forecasting and monitoring of meteorological phenomena and citizens actively involved in decision-making processes.
